Mother 3

I suggest everyone play through this game. The rom file is japanese, but there is a patch online that allows you to get menus/items in english, and there are numerous translations that allow you to play through the story knowing what's going on.

The game's story so far is better than Earthbound's, imho, and even if you haven't played Earthbound, it won't have an affect on playing this Mother 3.

Ness brings back lots of childhood memories, but I can't help feeling sorrow and hopeful for Lucas.

Lucas all the way in Brawl though. His hair is great... I'm going as him next halloween. Oh, and the color change in Brawl where he has orange hair, that's actually his twin brother, Claus.

that guy is really good with Bowser in Melee, i think hes having trouble adapting to Brawl. he shields most of the time.

his down-ariel is weird. sometimes it sends you up, sometimes its down, it looks like it depends what spot in the animation he hits you and where the enemy is in relation to snake.

Yeah. The reason I mentioned Bowser was because I remembered him owning in melee. I'm glad that Brawl has leveled the playing field for everyone.

according to the official tournament tiers, Bowser was rated 2nd worst chracter in Melee, only coming ahead of Pichu. O_o

Dang, I was using snake all wrong. You really have to use his tilts and arial attacks as smashes and use everything else as projectiles. Weird.

Mother was released. Then Mother 2 was released on the Super Famicon in Japan. They translated Mother 2 for the international market, ported it tot he Super Nintendo, and called it Earthbound. They released, 10 years later (2006), Mother 3 in Japan, and have not translated it at this point. Some people in America, however, refer to Mother 3 as Earthbound 2, just to keep with the American naming system, since all they know is Earthbound, and no original Mother.

I played the japanese mother and mother 2 on the motherload...japanese is hard to read.

Should have played Earthbound (mother 2) in english =P. The text MAKES the game, seriously.

yea, i played about 30 minutes of mother 3 with a translator. even though i was switching back and forth between windows i still got pulled into the story

it really is pretty fun. too bad it's all in japanese and some of the mechanics of the game will never be known to me.. did you already beat the game, mikey? errrr blankrubber

lol, not yet. I haven't played in quite a few days because Josh White has been in Knoxville. I'm about halfway through though I think.

ah, that's cool. i have a problem in game with eating my food. in past rpgs, you saved food for boss fights, but from the looks of it, you have to eat regularly just to keep from dying.

i've been killed by poison twice. effing chomp snakes.
