Why would they delay it because of a phrase in a song? aren't there bible phrases in songs all the time?

well what may seem like nothing to you, and nothing to me for that matter, people all around the world are willing to kill themselves over the slightest thing they see as offensive to their religion/ideals/opinions. Right now the religion is the centuries' hot topic to get pissed over so it was only a matter of time till someone got pissed enough to kill over it which makes the pull and delay was logical. Sad but that's the world we live in.

seems to me that by delaying this game; the first good PS3 exclusive in a while would make more people want to kill somebody than changing a few words. How many muslim extremists will play this game do you think?

the only thing that upsets me is i honestly believe they couldve set up a patch to take the BGM out by the day it releases.
delaying it for a week for such a trivial (in terms of programming) purpose is rather upsetting.

It only takes one spark to create a forest fire. As I said it's the hot topic to get pissed over so it's a safe business move to ensure sales and keep out worse bad publicity than a 6 day delay.
And the problem with that Lawke is that not every ps3 is hooked up to the internet in order to receive the patch is what I read.

Re: LBP delayed to Oct 27th
even Muslims agree the delay was not only not needed, but a poor move on Sony's part.
Muslims Disagree with LBP delay
"What do other Muslims think about the LittleBigPlanet delay? Not everyone agrees that the decision to postpone the game due to the inclusion of "offensive" Qur'anic text was the right one. In fact, M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D., president of the non-profit American Islamic Forum for Democracy strongly opposes the complaint stating that it was counterproductive to freedom of speech.
Jasser, who has also appeared on CNN and the Washington Times, spoke to Edge-Online saying "Muslims cannot benefit from freedom of expression and religion and then turn around and ask that anytime their sensibilities are offended that the freedom of others be restricted." He also argued: "The fact that the music writer is a devout Muslim should highlight that at the core of this issue is not about offending 'all Muslims,' but only about freedom of expression and the free market."
In the end, it sounds like to us that no one gained a thing from this debacle. Sony and Media Molecule take a bad rap for the delays, Muslims look ever more paranoid and distant, and everyone is left in waiting. Hopefully this series of bad decisions and wrong turns will be over soon."

Re: LBP delayed to Oct 27th
so the pre-orders came out yesturday, and I have to say I really like this game. It has better platforming than mario galaxy, plus levels made specifically for co-op made this my favorite PS3 game so far. Even without the level builder/ online downloader it would have been an amazng game.
